In this day and age when cockfighting or dog foghts are banned how come we have grown men & women (and kids) fighting to a knock out, trying to kick each others head in !

its all about control, no matter what day and age we live in, we are still a violent species, this has been proven through the ages. We are still animals at the end of the day trying to play a civalised at life, but its impossible to change the nature of the beast. Only by being taugh control and learning respect for others can we hope to create a safe environment for people, men women and children, to release their agression, because we all need to let go from time to time. At least through sport we can gain a certian amount of control over the fights, and try and teach people to respect others, if not themselves.
So however wrote the message above needs to actually attend one of the classes or competions to see what the true nature really is!!

I agree i am 13 and have entered many full contact tournaments and the nature is that after every bought you shake hands with your opponent and theres no hard feelings or mutual hate between you and your opponent

Hi "Chief" I train in Banbury near Oxford. I do Karate and have only just recieved my black belt a few weeks ago. I found my first full contact very dawnting but after the first I wasn't as scared. I also found that the refs are very cautious when it comes to children and stop it at any sign of the child getting hurt but they tend to loosen of on adults

Hi fellow full contact fighters/Trainers. Full contact fighting should be allowed because it is the competitors personal choice it also keeps you extremely fit e.g. PAUL TAYLOR who i train with couldnt be in better shape training in full contact has taken him beyond fitness! Full contact fighting also gives you the chance to test the skills you have aquired in training in martial arts. I would also like to congratulate Paul Taylor who has just won the MAAS British Cruiser weight Kick Boxing Belt against a very tough oppenent Paul Greeves. Well done Paul from Ben!!!!

Hi all hope the spirits with you

As you all know that martial arts has come into the Olympics. I don't know how you all feel about that but I'm not too happy, it wasm't mean to be in the ring. It is away of understanding yourself and supporting others not beating them up!!

By looking back at the routs of it, it was a way of understanding yourself and away of meditation.

Hi

Just wanted to add a little note, that each of us that practise martial arts or other type of fighting form should learn to respect others and not use it as a means of showing up others. As we all know or should be aware of that martial arts is based on respecting others and should be kept that way. I have found few individuals pushing their way around and feel that they do not have a clear understanding what martial arts is about. Understanding it will help all of use to understand ourselfs even so it will be a good while untill we realy do understand it, if we do ever get to that stage.
