I feel that this should not be allowed - there is too much violence as it is, in an age where dog fights are banned why have women fighting to a knock out?

By John Ranford on Tuesday, May 30, 2000 - 10:23 am:

dog fights are banned because they are forced into it by evil men and women who get some sick perverted kick from seeing dogs forced to kill each other.
But you may not realise this but women do have their own mind, even if you have been trying to tell them otherwise, if they dont want to fight they dont have to, I think most women would be pretty P**^&D to think that you are denying them the freedom of thought!

Good point John, there are some very technicaly good female Martial Artists out there and the challenge of full contact should be their choice. I think you can only comment if you've done it. Are there any ladies who have faught and have had a change of oppinion?

As I have been doing Martial Arts it has helped me to be more comfortable in whatever surroundings I'm in. I feel that it is a huge plus to anybodys lifes, as long as they put the effort in. It is more than just fighting it's about relaxation and meditation.

Great to hear that it is working for you Gaynor Martial Arts can change your life - It changed mine

I am a woman that has studied martial arts for the past 17 years and the only way you can really feel a technique work to the best of its abilty is to actually do it either to pads or preferably with a partner. I am one of 3 women that train at my club and I also teach a self defence course for women on a regular basis.....if you are trained to do something light and with pulled punches when it really comes down to do it mentally you are confitioned to hit weakly and half power.

In this day when men and women are classed as equal and women are now trying to become army comandos....what is the problem of them fighting full contact if they so desire, women can make there own decisions and there is nothing more exciting than seing a full contact compitition which is more mental skill rather than brute strength at any rate!
